The Hampshire Young People’s Chorus was founded in 1999 with the goal of offering children a comfortable and encouraging atmosphere in which to learn healthy vocal technique, develop fundamental music skills and sing a wide range of music from different styles and traditions. The choir’s roster currently includes nearly 60 children ages 7-16 in three age divisions – Junior Choir, Concert Choir and Chamber Singers.

The award-winning Young People’s Chorus, under the direction of K.C. Conlan, has performed widely, including collaborations with the Amherst College and Smith College Orchestras, Pioneer Valley Symphony, Commonwealth Opera and Amherst Ballet. They have participated in numerous choral festivals and have hosted children’s choirs from Boston, Chicago and the Czech Republic. In 2011, 2012 and 2013 the Chamber Singers took first place in the children’s choir division of WGBY’s Together In Song choral competition. They have toured to Philadelphia and Chicago.
