The Pioneer Valley Chordsmen, a men’s chorus with a 50-year history, are based in Chicopee and draw members from across western Massachusetts. As a local chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the Chordsmen love to share their exuberant harmonies with audiences young and old. The group features two independent quartets, Avalanche and Special Delivery, and is well-known for delivering Singing Valentines each year on Valentine’s Day. The Chordsmen were pleased to win the Barbershop category in 2013’s Together In Song. Veterans of over 30 district and regional barbershop competition, the Chordsmen perform throughout the year at schools, restaurants, civic and community events, nursing homes, libraries, and ball games around the region.
