Music has been an integral part of our organization since 1924. The Kurn Hattin Select Choir is composed of boys and girls in grades 6-8 at Kurn Hattin Homes, a Vermont home and school for children, many of whom are deemed at risk or in need. The choir travels widely, performing throughout the Northeast. Through the healing power of music, Kurn Hattin’s students build confidence and self-esteem, overcome trauma and adversity, and go on to lead rich, productive lives. Most choir members also perform on instruments in one or more of the school’s bands.

About the Director<br /> Lisa Bianconi has served as Kurrn Hattin's Director of Music since 1985. She is a graduate of Notre Dame's School of Music with a Master in Education from Keene State College. Bianconi, a 2014 Grammy Music Educator of the Year finalist, teaches all choirs, as well as jazz, concert and marching band. She is a member of the Vermont Music Educators Association and served as Chair of its District VI region. Bianconi lives in Rockingham, Vermont with her husband, Jeff, and their 5 children.
