Established in 2001, Young Singers of Greater Westfield brings together children from grades 2-12, who rehearse weekly to develop vocal skills, music literacy, and a beautiful choral sound. They perform 2 major concerts each season and participate in choral festivals throughout the year. They also do outreach performances for school programs, senior citizens, civic organizations, and fundraisers for people in need. These activities engender focus, attentiveness and a supportive and caring musical community.
Moriah is a chamber group of eleven girls who are selected from the larger group of Young Singers. They rehearse once a week.

About the Director<br /> Janet St. Jean received a BA degree from Dartmouth College and a MM degree in vocal accompaniment from the New England Conservatory of Music. She has taught music in the Needham and Amherst public schools. She has recently retired as the choral director at North Middle School in Westfield, MA. She has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Westfield State University, teaching Choral Methods in Public School. She serves on the board of directors of the Massachusetts Chapter of The American Choral Directors Association. She is the co-founder and musical director of Young Singers of Greater Westfield, an auditioned chorus of 60 singers. She has accompanied the Greater Westfield Choral Association, the Hampshire Choral Association, and is in great demand as an accompanist throughout the region. She spends as much free time as she can find with her family, which includes 2 grandchildren and an affectionate Chocolate Lab.
